Most agate varieties found in the area of the Yellowstone River, Montana, USA are called Montana Agates.
They range in color from light creamy white to dark brown and black. They are found in gravel deposits
from the Pleistocene Age (10,000 - 1,6000,00) when large ice sheets covered most of North America.
