I started with beads over 13 years ago (before I learned how to work with metals and lapidary) and I've been experiencing a deep yearning to work with all those beautiful and exotic beads that I never finished using. Wonderful old trade beads, semi precious beads in various shapes, glass beads, metal beads and even some dichroic glass beads fill many trays and seem to be "calling me".

The necklace on the left was made for a friend as a Christmas present. It has a detachable pendant of poppy jasper set in 14K gold.

Making this piece was such a joy that I've decided to add a new line of exotic and ethnic beaded jewelry this year - bead bracelets, earrings and bead necklaces with a mix of colors and materials.

Cutting and polishing stones and making one-of-a-kind silver and gold pieces will continue to be my primary focus, but some of this work will be in the form of pendants that can be attached to bead necklaces.
